A man appears to have fatally shot his father before taking his own life in Belmont, police said.
Police responded to the 2400 block of Carlmont Drive at about 8:20 a.m. Monday on a report of a fatal shooting and found two males ages 70 and 28 deceased, likely from gunshot wounds.
“Detectives later determined that the victims were father and son, and the subsequent investigation suggests that the son had shot his father prior to taking his own life,” police said. The names of the deceased “are not being released at this time,” police said.
The investigation is ongoing.
