A shooting near Carlmont High School in Belmont today prompted a lockdown of the school, police said.
No one was injured, and there is no suspect information in the incident that occurred in the 1200 block of Valerga Drive, Belmont police reported on Twitter.
Belmont police first alerted the public about the incident on Twitter at 2:22 p.m.
“This is an isolated incident,” police reported. “CHS students will be safely released from school at 3:20 and directed to head south from school.”
Parents were asked to pick up students at the south driveway near San Carlos Avenue.
Police later advised that students were safely leaving campus for the day.
