San Mateo County sheriff’s deputies are investigating an armed robbery of a Baskin-Robbins ice cream store in San Carlos last weekend.
Deputies responded to the store at 1648 El Camino Real at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, and learned two employees were approached by a gun-toting suspect who demanded money from the cash register before walking around the counter, opening the cash register and making off with $300 in cash.
He fled on foot southbound on El Camino Real and was not located following a search by deputies.
The employees were not injured in the robbery.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 20s, standing approximately 5-6, weighing 160 poonds, wearing a black hoodie, a red bandana over his face, blue jeans, brown shoes and gray gloves.
The sheriff’s office is seeking any potential witnesses or security video in the area that could assist in identifying the suspect.
